About the Job

At Integral, principals are business, client, and staff leaders. They are recognized internally and externally as technical and strategic authorities in one or more technical areas. They direct major technical efforts and project teams, ensuring technical excellence, alignment with contractual requirements, and compliance with the firm’s QA/QC procedures. Principals help develop the next generation of firm leaders by recruiting new talent and coaching colleagues. Paramount to the position is successful client development for both existing and new clients, and in both existing and new services. Principals are recognized as trusted advisors to key clients, which in turn requires in-depth understanding of clients’ business and technical challenges. Principals generate net revenue equal to or exceeding $1.25 million per year through a combination of collaboration and individual effort.

This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Serving as principal-in-charge for complex soil, groundwater remediationprojects and drinking water projects.
Serving as a consulting and/or testifying expert on complex litigation matters.
Advising clients on technical risk, regulatory strategy, and remediation approaches associated with redevelopment, transactions, or long-term liability management.
Interfacing with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to support permitting, compliance, and closure strategies.
Providing senior technical review of reports, designs, and modeling analyses toensure defensibility and technical rigor.
Mentoring senior and mid-level staff and contributing to the development of technical standards, best practices, and thought leadership.
Contributing to business development through proposal support, technical scoping, and strengthening long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

Candidates should have an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in environmental or civil engineering or related field.

The ideal candidate will have:

P.E. license
15+years of experience in environmental consulting
Proven leadership on investigation/remediation projects as a strategic advisor to clients
Excellentwritten and oral communication skills
A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
Strong organizational abilitiesAbility to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
