Develop strategic accounts. Turn technical solutions into long-term business.

Do you have experience in technical B2B sales and would you like to develop demanding customers and international high-tech projects independently?

As Key Account Manager / Senior Sales (m/f/d), you will take responsibility for strategic accounts, develop new business opportunities and support demanding projects from the first technical discussion through to the order and beyond.

In doing so, you will combine technical understanding with entrepreneurial thinking and a clear focus on sustainable, repeatable business.

About us

For more than 30 years, piezosystem jena has been developing and manufacturing high-precision piezo actuators, positioning systems and high-performance drive electronics.

Our solutions are used wherever motion has to be delivered with the utmost precision, speed and force – among others in the semiconductor industry, photonics and optics, aerospace, research and industrial automation.

In doing so, we work together with international technology companies, OEM customers, research institutes and universities.

Many of our applications do not come from a standard catalogue. Together with our customers, we develop the technically and commercially appropriate solution for their particular application.

Your Role

You will look after and develop existing key accounts while at the same time building new business relationships with technology-driven companies and OEM customers.

Together with our customers, you will analyse technical requirements, identify suitable solutions and turn them into concrete projects and long-term business relationships.

In doing so, you will work closely with applications engineering, development and production.

This position is explicitly not a purely reactive sales role. We are looking for a personality who actively develops customers, recognises business potential and drives projects forward independently – from the first idea through qualification, quotation and negotiation to a successful close.

Building long-term relationships with contacts in engineering, R&D, purchasing and management
Identifying applications with potential for long-term OEM and series business
Actively managing your own sales pipeline and systematically following up on opportunities
Conducting price and contract negotiations
Monitoring the market, the competition and technological developments
Passing relevant market and customer information on to product management, development and executive management
Representing piezosystem jena at customer meetings, industry events and selected international trade fairs

Your Profile

Completed university degree in a technical, scientific or business discipline, for example mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, physics, industrial engineering, business administration or a comparable field
Several years of experience in technical B2B sales, business development, key account management or application engineering
Demonstrable experience in building customer relationships and systematically developing business opportunities through to the order
Strong technical understanding and the ability to grasp complex applications quickly
At the same time, a strong commercial understanding and a focus on commercially attractive projects
Ideally experience in fields such as precision positioning, mechatronics, automation, optics and photonics, semiconductor technology, metrology or comparable high-tech industries
Experience dealing with OEM customers and more complex sales processes is an advantage
Entrepreneurial, proactive and results-oriented way of working
Confidence in negotiations and a convincing manner with both technical and commercial decision-makers
Independent, structured and dependable way of working
Very good German and English language skills
Willingness to travel regularly within Germany and Europe as well as occasionally internationally

What is decisive for us is the ability to understand technical requirements, develop customers strategically and build sustainable business from this.
