Overview

As a Sales Engineer, you will be the technical resource for our Account Executives, shaping solutions for customers. You’ll deliver demos, run proofs of value, and guide clients through trials to show how Sumo Logic meets their needs. You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve the service based on customer feedback and build trusted advisor relationships. This role combines deep technical knowledge with customer-facing influence in a fast-paced startup environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Partner with Account Executives to understand customer challenges and articulate Sumo Logic’s value proposition
Technically close complex opportunities through competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
Lead technical validations during the Proof of Value phase
Engage with executives to developers and Site Reliability Engineers across organizations
Deliver product and technical demonstrations of the Sumo Logic service
Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to improve the service based on customer experience
Maintain hunter/farmer mentality by building technical relationships with prospects and customers

Zentrale Anforderungen

Fluency in German and English (written and verbal)
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; M.S. preferred
3+ years in roles such as Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or related customer-facing technical roles
Hands-on knowledge of security products and related technologies (IDS/IPS, SIEM, threat detection, etc.)
Experience with open source collections (Telegraf, FluentBit, FluentD, Open Telemetry)
Experience leading and running technical validations like Proof of Value
Experience selling SaaS solutions in multi-tenant architectures
Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure (certifications preferred)
Broad understanding of technical infrastructure and modern app architecture (Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda)
Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, New Relic)
Comfortable in a dynamic startup environment
Strong written and verbal communication and technical/business acumen
