Overview

We’re partnering with a high-growth, AI-driven platform looking to hire a Senior Backend Engineer to act as a technical anchor within the team .

This is a role for someone who goes beyond delivery — you’ll shape architecture, influence engineering standards, and elevate the quality of everything built . You’ll operate with high autonomy while working closely with product, data, and engineering teams in a collaborative environment.

Java 21 (Spring Boot 3), Python, AWS, PostgreSQL, Kinesis, Terraform, GitHub Actions

Frontend Exposure: Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, React

What You’ll Be Doing

Own and build complex backend systems from design through to production and long-term scaling
Drive architecture decisions and clearly communicate technical trade-offs
Lead technical discussions and raise the engineering bar across the team
Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and structured feedback
Identify and resolve systemic issues across infrastructure and backend systems
Improve observability, performance, and reliability at scale
Collaborate cross-functionally to align engineering with business and product goals
Contribute to hiring and team growth , helping define engineering standards

What We’re Looking For

8+ years experience in backend engineering within production environments
Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot) with strong Python exposure
Proven experience building distributed systems (microservices, event-driven architectures, data pipelines)
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and AWS-based infrastructure
Experience operating in high-growth or scaling environments
A strong technical leader who elevates those around them
Comfortable working in ambiguous environments , shaping problems as well as solving them
