Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfil and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers receive items on time. As an Area Manager, you’ll lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, quality, and drives productivity across our network.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and well‑being.
• Analyse and implement changes to keep quality and productivity consistently high.
• Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimise productivity and increase quality of service within your area of responsibility.
• Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives, and put in place actions to improve operational excellence.
• Work collaboratively with management‑level colleagues to standardise shift practices.

A Day in the Life

You’ll work a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on productivity, safety, and quality. Responsibilities include team management, daily operational duties, process improvement, and operational contingency tasks. You will serve as a role model and mentor to new managers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree.
• Experience in people management.
• Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams.
• Experience making data‑driven business decisions.
• Experience in English and German writing and editing with strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
• Experience in warehouse operations and logistics or equivalent.
• Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
