For our client, a leading global universal bank with its European headquarters in Frankfurt, we are currently looking for an Accounting & Controlling Vice President to strengthen the Accounting & Reporting team within Finance & Controls.

Purpose of the job

The role plays a key part in the finance function of a growing international banking group and is responsible for the integrity of the bank’s financial information. Working across accounting, financial reporting, tax and transfer pricing, the position ensures accurate reporting under German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS, supports tax compliance and strengthens governance and control standards. It involves close collaboration with stakeholders across Germany, Europe and the international head office.

Tasks

• Support and oversee key accounting activities, including general ledger monitoring, reconciliations, accounting controls and manual journal entry reviews under IFRS and HGB
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities, including consolidation entries, FX revaluations, quality reviews and reporting deliverables
• Support tax-related activities by preparing data for tax calculations, VAT reporting, transfer pricing matters and head office tax reporting requirements
• Prepare internal and external financial reports and support reporting obligations to regulators, auditors and the head office

Requirements

• University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; professional qualification is an advantage
• Several years of experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting or tax within a financial institution or another regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP (HGB) and the related reporting requirements
• Experience supporting tax, VAT, transfer pricing, audit or financial reporting activities
