Founded in 1921, OLDENDORFF CARRIERS combines its history as a German shipowner with the network of one of the world’s leading drybulk operators. We currently control some 700 chartered and owned vessels of 40 mio tdw, and we carry around 380 mio tons of raw materials and semi‑finished products across the seven seas each year. Our customers can expect 100% performance. All the way.
Are you ready to kick‑start your career in Chartering? Our Advanced Chartering Program offers a fast‑track opportunity to gain hands‑on experience, learn from industry experts, and make an impact from day one.
Before the Traineeship officially begins, you’ll kick off your journey with a six‑week paid internship at Oldendorff, starting in September. This internship is a great opportunity to boost your CV while getting an authentic look into the world of Chartering and life at Oldendorff. During this time, we want to get to know you better—and just as importantly, give you the chance to see whether a career in shipping feels like the right fit for you. After the internship, three successful candidates will be offered a spot in our 12‑month Traineeship, which begins in October. From there, you’ll rotate through key departments such as Fleet, the Performance Desk, Port Operations, and our Bunker Team—building a solid foundation before focusing more deeply on Operations and Chartering. By the end of the program, you’ll be well prepared for a dynamic career in Chartering at one of the world’s leading dry bulk shipping companies.
We’re on the lookout for bold, charismatic talent with a real passion for networking — eager to live abroad, thrive in diverse cultural environments, and jump at opportunities that demand creativity, courage, and a flair for taking smart risks.
