Aerodynamics Engineer – Aerodynamic Data Modeling (d/f/m)

Airbus Defence & Space is looking for an aerodynamic engineer to support the Aerodynamics department. The role involves creating and delivering aircraft‑representative aerodynamic data and models for stability & control, performance, loads, and aeroelastics. Data will be derived from numerical simulations, wind tunnel testing and flight tests.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess aerodynamic characteristics of high‑agility fighter aircraft
• Model and design aerodynamic datasets for stability & control, performance and loads assessment
• Deep dive into flight‑test data and implement necessary dataset corrections
• Define, prepare and support wind tunnel, flight‑test and numerical simulation campaigns
• Drive the development of cutting‑edge technology for future aerodynamic dataset prediction, including data fusion and machine‑learning methods

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in aerospace, mechanical engineering or related field
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, with interest in fighter aircraft
• Experience in flight‑test and wind‑tunnel data analysis
• Proficient programming skills and familiarity with machine learning, data fusion algorithms
• Excellent analytical skills, reliability, assertiveness, ability to thrive under pressure
• Team player, autonomous, independent, goal‑oriented with flexibility for new challenges
• Strong collaboration skills and open‑minded approach
• Capable of prioritizing technical solutions while respecting economic constraints
• Fluency in English and German
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
