Aerodynamics Engineer (m/f/d)

As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for the aerodynamic design, analysis, and performance optimization of autonomous airborne platforms across the full development lifecycle. This role focuses on shaping the vehicle’s Outer Mold Line, understanding flow behavior across regimes, and driving aerodynamic performance against mission and system-level constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own aerodynamic design from early concept through detailed design, balancing performance, stability, manufacturability, and system constraints
• Develop and iterate configurations using first-principles analysis, semi-empirical methods, and high-fidelity CFD
• Define and operate CFD workflows, including meshing strategies, solver selection, and post-processing pipelines
• Build, maintain, and improve aerodynamic models used in simulation and system-level analysis
• Conduct trade studies across configurations, flight regimes, and mission profiles to inform key design decisions
• Work closely with GNC, propulsion, and structures to drive coherent system-level performance
• Define and support wind tunnel and flight test campaigns, including test planning, instrumentation, and data analysis

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience shaping and optimizing large-scale aerial platforms
• Strong foundation in aerodynamics across subsonic and transonic regimes
• Hands‑on experience with CFD tools, including setup, execution, and interpretation of results
• Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, compressible flow, and aerodynamic performance drivers
• Experience working with aerodynamic models in complex simulation environments
• Ability to reason from first principles and translate theory into practical engineering trade‑offs

Bachelors and Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field

Preferred

Experience in fast paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times
