AI Product Engineer (m/f/d)

Xcede has partnered exclusively with an early-stage AI company on a mission to fix one of the most broken, high-stakes processes in the public sector: procurement .

Billions of euros are wasted every year in government and public institution buying, buried in bureaucracy, outdated systems, and processes that haven't been meaningfully touched in decades. The founders saw that and decided to do something about it. They're rebuilding procurement from the ground up with AI , shipping production systems in a domain where reliability and precision are non-negotiable.

The team is small, the technical bar is high, and the founders are hands-on. This isn't a role where you'll be handed a roadmap. They need a AI Product Engineer who can own the architecture, shape the product, and make everyone around them better.

What You'll Do

You'll work directly with the founders, no layers, no red tape. You'll own features end-to-end and make architectural decisions that shape the product for years.

• Design and build full-stack features from the ground up: frontend in React/TypeScript/Tailwind, backend in Python/FastAPI, infrastructure on AWS
• Architect and evolve core systems, asynchronous workflows, scalable data pipelines, clean interfaces between components
• Integrate LLMs into production: not as a novelty, but as the core of how the product works
• Collaborate directly with customers to understand real problems and translate them into robust, elegant solutions
• Identify what\'s broken before it breaks, take initiative across the stack, the architecture, and the team

Stack: TypeScript, React, Vite, Tailwind, Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy), AWS. AI-native workflow with Cursor, Claude Code, and others. Temporal experience a strong plus.

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years building and scaling production systems, strong foundations in architecture, system design, and API design
• Full-stack capability: as comfortable in a React component as in a FastAPI service
• Proven ability to own 0-to-1 products, you\'ve built things from scratch and seen them through to real users
• Strong signals of performance: founding or leading a startup, major open-source contributions, or leading complex systems at scale
• LLM/AI experience (LangChain, LlamaIndex, evals) a genuine plus
• Communicates clearly and directly, written and spoken English essential, working knowledge of German a bonus
• Berlin-based or willing to be, this is an office-first team
