AI Research Engineer - Reinforcement Learning

In this role you will advance Helsing’s reinforcement learning stack to enable robust, multi-agent decision makers in real-time defence scenarios. You will collaborate across cross-functional teams to deploy cutting-edge ML/AI into production, balancing performance with ethical and safety considerations. The position offers the chance to shape high-impact AI capabilities that protect democracies while working with some of the field’s leading experts. • Contribute to and extend the multi-agent reinforcement learning stack
• Design, train and deploy agents in complex multi-agent environments
• Collaborate across teams to integrate ML/AI into production systems
• Improve state-of-the-art RL methods and tooling
• Participate in reporting research findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders
• Support deployment with testing, QA, and monitoring practices

• MSc in machine learning with a focus on reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, automation and control, or robotics
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and presenting research findings
• Strong interest in current research and reimplementing/extending SOTA DL approaches
• Solid software engineering skills in Python and/or Rust, Java, or modern C++
• Experience deploying AI software to production including testing, QA and monitoring
