**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead System Engineer (d/f/m) to join our dynamic team in the Airbus Defence and Space Team, for upcoming and existing projects from German and international Customers.
The successful candidate will lead a technical team across multiple sites, overseeing system breakdown, requirements engineering, testing, and planning while ensuring high-quality deliverables. Reporting to the Chief Engineer and line management, this role requires strong decision-making, self-organization, and the ability to motivate others in a fast-paced, agile environment.

**Your tasks and responsibilities**
* Lead Technical Teams: Manage and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple sites
* System Breakdown: Oversee the decomposition of complex systems into subsystems and components
* Project Planning and Execution: Create and maintain project schedules and execute plans
* Decision-Making: Make critical technical and strategic decisions to resolve issues and drive project progress
* Quality and Progress Monitoring, Reporting, apply agile methodologies to manage workflows
* Motivate team members, encouraging innovation, accountability, and high performance
* Ensure compliance with defense industry standards and regulations
* Travel as needed to coordinate with teams, stakeholders, and clients

***Desired skills and qualifications***

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on the defense or automotive industry
* Proven expertise in system breakdown, requirements engineering, and testing
* Experience leading technical teams and managing projects across multiple sites
* Knowledge of agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and SAFe would be beneficial
* Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
* Strong organizational skills and self-motivated work ethic
* Ability to motivate and inspire team members
* Flexible and adaptable to changing project demands
* Strong communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement
* Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
* Familiarity with defense industry standards and practices
