Application & Business Development Manager Automotive EMEA

In this role you lead European OEM engagements to develop and launch PMMA, PC/ABS and ABS-based applications, driving concept-to-SOP execution. You act as the technical interface, shaping material solutions for growth areas like EV battery casings and sustainable components. You collaborate across R&D, Product Management, Sales and regulatory teams to convert opportunities into long-term account growth. You’ll work with regional and global ADE teams to strengthen cross-BU collaboration and optimize resource focus for short- and long-term value. • Lead development of new applications for European OEM accounts, focusing on EV battery casings, lighting, and sustainable interiors
• Validate and specify PMMA and PC/ABS solutions from concept through SOP
• Build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of technical opportunities
• Track progress, align internally, and maintain accurate SFDC opportunity reporting
• Own opportunity progression and support commercial conversion with Sales
• Serve as a technical partner to OEMs, identifying unmet needs and guiding material selection early
• Support regional business development with insights from platform- and account-level engagements
• Translate OEM requirements into clear technical inputs for R&D and Product Management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on material development and go-to-market for next-generation applications
• Lead discussions on sustainable, low-carbon, recycled-content, and circular material solutions

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
• 10+ years in automotive and/or plastics with experience with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers advantageous
• Strong thermoplastics expertise (PMMA, PC/ABS, composites) and processing knowledge (injection, compression molding, design, tool validation)
• Fluency in English and German
• Proven, customer-facing application development experience including molding trials and technical seminars
• Solid business development and negotiation skills with opportunity management experience
• Ability to coordinate across R&D, Product Management, Sales, Regulatory to align priorities
• Strong knowledge of European vehicle platforms and sustainability drivers
