Area Manager Operations (m/f/d)

In this role you lead and develop the production department to ensure throughput aligns with Supply Chain needs. You will plan machine utilization, drive cost-conscious decisions, and uphold quality and safety standards. You’ll support machine qualification, maintain equipment, and implement continuous improvements using Lean methodologies. You contribute to a production-lean environment, define new procedures, monitor KPIs, and lead internal audits and external assessments. This position combines leadership with hands-on manufacturing optimization in a patient-focused company.

• Lead and develop the department; drive team performance
• Ensure production throughput meets Supply Chain requirements
• Plan optimal machine utilization with focus on cost, quality, and deadlines
• Support qualification/validation of machines and equipment
• Maintain, service, and optimize operating equipment
• Initiate and implement continuous process improvements
• Foster a production environment based on Lean principles
• Develop procedures such as producibility assessments and manufacturing tests
• Monitor operational data and production KPIs
• Conduct and follow up on internal audits
• Serve as main contact for plant tours, audits, and department inquiries

• Several years of professional experience in a comparable production role
• Several years of leadership experience
• Good written and spoken English
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; structured and reliable work style
• Lean and safety-oriented mindset
• Strong technical understanding and process orientation
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities; ability to work independently and take ownership
• MS Office knowledge and SAP familiarity
