Artificial Intelligence Specialist

I am working for a company operating at the core of the fitness technology and payments space across DACH and Europe.

They provide the ERP and payments backbone behind major gym and fitness platforms, and are now entering a serious AI and automation transformation with executive-level backing.

This is a senior hire: AI Systems Lead, based in Hamburg or remote across DACH and the EU.

This role sits at the centre of the transformation. It is both architectural and operational. You are defining how AI is governed inside the company, and at the same time building the systems that make that governance real in day-to-day work.

What you would own

• AI architecture and operating model
• Define the rules for how AI is used across the organisation
• Design and own the reference architecture other teams build against
• Translate governance into practical, usable systems rather than policy documents
• Architect and evolve the internal AI layer connecting Confluence, Jira, Slack, Salesforce, Zendesk and other core systems
• Turn fragmented tools into a coherent agent-ready operating environment
• Ensure the system is stable, extensible and aligned with real workflows
• Claude rollout and agent enablement
• Lead the company-wide rollout of Claude as the standard AI platform
• Identify and deliver high-value agentic workflows across departments
• Train and enable teams to use and extend these systems effectively over time

What they are looking for

• Around six or more years of engineering experience with a strong senior track record
• Deep hands-on experience building agents, not just using LLM APIs
• Mandatory fluency in the Claude ecosystem
• Including Claude Agent SDK, Claude Code, tool use, MCP, sub-agents, skills and Cowork
• Proven experience shipping agentic systems to real users in short cycles (4–6 weeks)
• Ability to operate at the intersection of engineering, product and governance
• Experience translating frameworks such as GDPR, EU AI Act or similar into real operational rules that teams actually follow
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with senior stakeholders and executive leadership
• Small, high-agency team with real budget and mandate
• Fluent English required, German is a strong plus
• Legal right to work in Germany required
