Purpose of the job

The role contributes to the independent assessment of a bank's regulatory compliance set-up, testing whether controls work as intended and meet supervisory expectations. • Contribute to the preparation and execution of reviews, from defining scope and designing test steps to documenting the work performed, covering regulatory topics and, where relevant, financial crime matters
  • Formulate observations, underlying causes, associated risks and recommended corrective measures, and present them clearly to the responsible stakeholders
  • Track the progress of agreed corrective actions and raise delays through the appropriate channels
  • Compile management reporting and supporting materials for the relevant oversight committees
  • Work closely with colleagues from compliance, risk, internal audit and the business to ensure aligned and constructive cooperation
  • Support departmental initiatives, process improvements, the implementation of new regulatory requirements and further ad hoc topics

Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in Finance, Law, Accounting, Business or Economics
  • Relevant professional experience in Compliance, Audit, Risk Management, Financial Crime prevention or a comparable banking environment. Additional professional certifications are a plus
  • Solid knowledge of banking products, regulatory requirements and internal control systems
  • Hands-on experience evaluating risks, controls and regulatory obligations in a supervised setting
  • Analytical mindset and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to complex issues
  • Convincing interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation's control structure
  • Very good written and spoken English; German is an advantage
