Houlihan Lokey, Inc. (NYSE:HLI) is a leading global investment bank that delivers independent strategic and financial advice to corporations, financial sponsors, and governments. The Capital Solutions Group comprises about 200 professionals worldwide and offers tailored financing alternatives and strategic financial advice. The Debt Capital Solutions team is looking to add an Associate to its Debt Advisory team, focusing on corporate clients across a wide range of financing products, including classical syndicated bank financing, term loan B and high‑yield bonds, private placements, asset‑based lending, and private debt instruments such as unitranches and growth capital financing.
Responsibilities
- Lead selected transaction workstreams and support the overall day‑to‑day execution of financing advisory mandates (e.g., acquisition financings, refinancings)
- Coordinate and lead internal deal teams on the preparation of confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing materials, and other client deliverables
- Support the analysis and negotiation of financing terms and documentation, and help formulate recommendations for clients
- Prepare, analyse, and present historical and projected financial models in support of ongoing engagements
- Assist in originating new client engagements for the Capital Solutions team across various jurisdictions, industries, and situations
- Support relationship coverage of active debt investors, including banks, credit funds, and other alternative asset managers
- Coordinate third‑party workstreams with other professional advisors and perform business due diligence
- Mentor and support junior analysts
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with high exposure to C‑suite and senior leadership
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, taking initiative and thinking independently
- Strong work ethic and resilience, willing to tackle complex tasks under pressure
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, comfortable with complex financial situations
- Strong academic background and 3–4 years of experience in Debt Advisory, Rating Advisory, Leveraged Finance, Structured Finance, or a similar role
- High technical expertise, including strong financial modelling, financial analysis, and research skills
- Fluency in German and English, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
