Associate Director Country Operations Management

Overview

In this role you drive the implementation of the country strategy within the Country Operations Management team, acting as a culture and values ambassador and leading local functional groups. You ensure timely, compliant trial deliverables across programs and manage resources, performance, and development for direct reports. You may contribute to regional/global initiatives and, when needed, take on PMCO duties. You collaborate with local and global teams to optimize operations, quality, and site engagement while upholding ethics and policy standards.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Lead and develop the local Country Operations Management group
  • Ensure adequate resources and optimized workload; coordinate project assignments with stakeholders
  • Performance management and development plans for direct reports; coaching
  • Prepare salary/bonus proposals with HCO; manage hiring and onboarding for staff
  • Ensure country-level study activities comply with local policies and ethics; meet activation and recruitment targets
  • Contribute to country feasibility analyses for new trials; support external scientific engagement strategy
  • Support efficient COM organization and cross-functional functioning with HCO
  • Act as extended local leadership to implement country strategy and champion values; collaborate with global teams
  • Contribute to quality improvement of study processes with DCQ; support inspection readiness
  • Identify and discuss quality deficiencies and CAPAs; conduct Site Oversight Visits as needed
  • Plan and conduct regular CRA visits; support CRAs in issue management; site liaison for compliance discussions
  • Collaborate with PMCO and DCQ on monitoring quality based on KPIs; maintain tools to document monitoring activities
  • Refer to other job descriptions if taking additional roles with AD COM responsibilities
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Bachelor in Life Science or related field; equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Development Operations or related fields (5 years if LM of CRAs)
  • Strong leadership and people development skills
  • Proactive with ability to plan for future needs
  • Business acumen and ability to translate company direction to the team
  • Solution-oriented with comfort leading through ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (spoken and written English)
