The Associate Research Photographer supports CoStar in building an in‑depth understanding of commercial real estate in Stuttgart and surrounding areas. The role is offered on a 2‑year fixed‑term contract basis. Equipped with state‑of‑the‑art equipment – Canon R6, tilt‑shift and 17‑35mm lenses, drone where applicable, iPad, laptop, smartphone, mobile Wi‑Fi – and traveling by foot, public transport or a hybrid research vehicle, the photographer canvasses the market to identify and capture commercial listings, building attributes, tenants and photographs not represented in the CoStar database. The photographer is remotely managed by a Photography Manager and is required to submit a portfolio of real‑estate/architectural photography, either via a link or upload.
• Support the collection of imagery, property information and market updates across assigned sub‑markets and core territories by driving or walking designated areas.
• Identify new availabilities, missing inventory, construction updates and required image updates.
• Capture high‑quality exterior property images and collect building information for commercial properties, including those with for‑lease and for‑sale signage.
• Gather basic property attribute data: address, building type, number of stories, approximate building size, visible occupier information.

• Stand, sit, walk and work in the field for up to 8 hours per day.
• Carry camera equipment and field gear; hold equipment weighing ~2kg with one hand for short periods.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm movements for typing, writing, image capture and equipment handling.
• Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, around traffic noise and possible vehicle exhaust fumes.
• Travel safely between assigned locations by car, public transport, walking or other approved methods.
• Full local driving licence (clean record preferred).
• Good written and spoken communication skills in German and English.
• Developing technical knowledge of digital photography, with the ability to capture clear, well‑composed images.
• Basic experience with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
• Photography education, training or relevant practical experience preferred.
• Interest in commercial real‑estate, urban environments, architecture, property research, or field‑based work.
• Basic knowledge of MacOS, Microsoft Office and internet‑based applications.
• Portfolio preferred, especially property, architecture, street, landscape or urban imagery.
• Good organisational skills and ability to follow daily instructions.
• Flexible, willing to learn new systems and field‑research methods.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territories and occasionally support field projects elsewhere.
• Drone experience and a valid European A2 drone licence desirable.
• Ability to learn commercial real‑estate terminology, mapping tools and CoStar data‑collection processes.
• Comfortable working independently in the field, receiving regular remote support.
