This is a full time position at grade 4 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.
As Associate Investment Officer you will be responsible for a portfolio of private equity/infrastructure fund investments during the disinvestment and liquidation phases. This will involve client relationship management (including as representative of the Bank to advisory committees), monitoring, annual reviews, events resolution and divestment of EIB positions (including disposal of funds sub‑portfolios on the secondary markets). You will also be responsible for the review of valuations of your portfolio, as well as contributing to and coordinating periodic and ad‑hoc reporting.
Reporting to the Head of Unit, and with the support of more senior Officers, you will cooperate regularly with colleagues within the FCID Division and with other Divisions in PMM, as well as with internal counterparts across the Bank in other Directorates (Origination, Legal, Risk Management, Financial Control and Treasury). You will also maintain contact with external fund managers, co‑investors and other transaction stakeholders, including the European Investment Fund (EIF).
Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre‑requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre‑requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
