Associate Mechanic

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Associate Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Ansbach, Germany. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Important Note : Selected candidates without an active German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 60 days in a temporary role while obtaining their visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, you will be offered a full‑time German contract. If accepted, you will be required to pay German taxes, obtain German healthcare, and work within the guidelines of the German labor system.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.
• Maintenance and routine repair work on engines, engine accessories, power transmission systems on automobiles, trucks and construction equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Germany/E.U. work visa or ability to obtain one.
• Two (2) years of maintenance experience.
• Vocational, technical, or military formal certificates of training in a related maintenance field may be substituted for equivalent years of experience.
• Knowledge and proficiency with general automotive tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic test equipment.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screening; must possess a valid driver’s license for the location, a high‑school diploma or GED, and a passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to travel to various U.S. or OCONUS locations.
• Mechanical experience with tactical and commercial wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, power generators sets, or construction equipment.

Clearance Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch, and kneel.
• Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
• Must be able to work in high‑noise areas.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and small parts.
• Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
