Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.Job DescriptionThe Clinical Operations Associate Medical Director is responsible for supporting the medical management staff to ensure timely and consistent medical decisions for members and providers.ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely completion of clinical case reviews for the board‑certified specialty.Make physician-to-physician calls to gather medically appropriate information for medical necessity determinations of requested services.Make medical necessity determinations for grievances and appeals appropriate for the specialty.Ensure consistent use of medical policies when making medical necessity decisions.Bring to supervisors any case review decisions that require Medical Director review or policy interpretation.Minimum RequirementsMD or DO with board certification approved by American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA); active unrestricted medical license.Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Capabilities3 years of clinical experience post residency, preferably in inpatient post‑acute care.Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehab preferred.Salary and LocationsSalary range: $179,503–$307,732.
