Associate Product Marketing Manager, Rotational (d/f/m)

This role requires 2 days per week in the office and is based in Munich or Berlin.

We're seeking a German-speaking Associate PMM to join Personio as we become the category leader in HR software for SMEs. The PMM team is a scarce and high-impact team — and this role exists to grow that capacity while giving someone the broadest possible foundation in the craft.

Over 6 to 12 months, you'll rotate across our most strategic product areas — including Core PMM, AI, and Payroll — developing hands‑on skills across the four core PMM competencies: messaging and positioning, go‑to‑market, research and insights, and sales enablement. At the end of the rotation, you'll move into a permanent specialty on the team depending on business needs.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute to major product launches, bring our biggest events of the year to market, and directly influence revenue. This is a role with real scope — you'll touch every part of the business and work alongside a team that moves fast.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is driven, curious, and motivated to build a career in product marketing. You'll need to be comfortable navigating ambiguity, picking up new product areas quickly, and working across a range of stakeholders and functions.

This role will report to the Director of PMM and receive mentorship from experienced PMMs across the team as you rotate through different areas.

What You’ll Do

• Support PMMs and own initiatives across the team on go‑to‑market activities for product launches, features, and campaigns
• Apply and adapt existing messaging and positioning frameworks to a range of assets — web copy, sales tools, emails, and more
• Develop a deep understanding of the Personio product, our customers, and the competitive landscape
• Partner with the research team to execute customer and market research tasks, including surveys and interviews
• Work with sales enablement to create, update, and train the sales team on assets that help them pitch the value of Personio
• Partner closely with marketing teams across DACH to support regional campaign plans
• Contribute to major product launches and Personio's flagship events of the year
• Actively integrate AI tools into your research, writing, and planning workflows

What You Need To Succeed

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English
• Background in product marketing, a product‑centric role, or a customer‑facing commercial role (1‑2 years)
• Ability to quickly build a working understanding of a product and translate it into clear, compelling messaging
• Experience working cross‑functionally — you know how to collaborate, when to lead, and when to support
• Self‑starter who can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and escape risks early
• Comfortable with ambiguity — you can pick up a project without a complete brief and make it move forward
• Experience experimenting and applying AI to everyday work — research, writing, planning, and beyond
• Sales or customer‑facing experience is a plus
