Automotive Microcontrollers FAE (Field Application Engineer)

In this role you support sales by translating customer needs into NXP Automotive system solutions. You will interact with customer engineering to provide tech overviews, assist with architecture discussions, and drive design-in towards production. You’ll collaborate with internal support and product groups to resolve issues and influence future products, while developing technical collateral and representing NXP at industry events. You contribute to a customer‑centric strategy that accelerates innovation at the system level.

• Interface with customer engineering to promote NXP automotive system solutions
• Support design-in from design-in to production through training, board reviews, and configuration of NXP products
• Collaborate with internal technical support and engineering to resolve customer issues
• Gather intelligence from customer meetings on end product plans and silicon requirements, feed into product groups
• Understand competitive landscape and contribute differentiating collateral
• Contribute to technical collateral (application notes, engineering bulletins) for customers
• Participate in technical conferences and industry shows

• 5+ years in a technical customer-facing role (AE/FAE) or HW/SW system development in Automotive applications
• Solid knowledge of embedded systems
• Good knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded software
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex board-level issues; familiarity with JTAG debuggers and lab equipment
• Strong presentation skills for complex technical subjects
• Professional, detail-oriented, customer-focused, self-driven; able to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams
• Languages: English, German; excellent written and verbal communication
