Automotive Systems Engineer (Wireless Communication)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to derive, create, and manage system/software (SYS/SW) requirements for automotive applications for wireless communications (cellular 4G/5G, WiFi/Bluetooth, V2X, …), embedded Linux (with a focus on Yocto-based platforms), cybersecurity etc.
Main responsibilities
- Interacting with customer and/or internal stakeholders to derive the relevant SYS/SW requirements for automotive wireless connectivity projects
- Analyzing SYS/SW requirements in collaboration with SYS architect, SW development and testing teams, e.g. pertaining to development and testing of the requirements
- Organizing, managing and tracking the SYS/SW requirements
- If needed, improving and optimizing the process of requirements management
- Carrying out SYS/SW requirements management as per the ASPICE process and generating the related documentation
- Creating and contributing to SYS/SW architecture design
- Evaluating new technologies, tools, processes from a SYS/SW requirements point of view
- Providing input on SYS/SW-relevant items in customer queries, bugs (e.g. over customer support tickets) and project documentation, e.g. for statement of work, RFQs etc.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering or related field
- In-depth knowledge of wireless communication technologies such as 3GPP 4G and 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GNSS
- Experience with system design and/or software development, especially in embedded Linux environment, and/or requirements engineering
- Experience with telematics and automotive applications, such as eCall/NG-eCall, and automotive interfaces, such as ethernet, CAN etc
- Familiarity with automotive processes and compliance standards
- Technical proficiency in tools like DOORS, and other requirement management tools
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills, attention to detail when evaluating system performanceGood at document creation, organization and control
- Proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage
- Strong skills in coordination, communication, and problem-solving within interdisciplinary teams
