Overview

As an Avionic Hardware Engineer, you own the integration of avionic systems onto Helsing’s drone platforms, from architecture decisions to production readiness. You’ll work across hardware and software boundaries to ensure scalable, verifiable solutions. You will drive fault isolation, traceability, and robust testing to support both ground and flight campaigns. This role sits at the intersection of aerospace hardware, embedded software, and production engineering, contributing to safe and scalable defence tech.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Contribute to avionic system architecture decisions and LRU selection from design start, shaping topology and production scalability.
  • Integrate avionic LRUs onto the airframe, including mounting, harness routing, connector mating, and configuration management; collaborate on hardware/software integration.
  • Perform system-level fault isolation across hardware, software and mechanical boundaries; manage non-conformances and root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute integration and acceptance test procedures with full traceability to requirements; support ground and flight tests with hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Own serialization and productionisation of avionic LRUs; develop production test procedures, acceptance criteria, and workmanship standards; contribute to safety analyses like FMEA and hazard identification.
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Integrated avionic or electronic hardware within UAV, aerospace or defence programmes; experience with architecture input, LRU selection, harness integration, and requirements flow-down.
  • Hardware from prototype to series production; ownership of serialization, productionisation, and workmanship standards.
  • Hands-on embedded systems debug, firmware bring-up, log analysis; familiarity with CAN Bus, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429.
  • Planned and executed integration, acceptance and flight test campaigns; managed NCs and RCAs to closure in a regulated development environment.
