BESS Project & Portfolio Assurance Expert

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands‑on BESS Project & Portfolio Assurance Expert to play a key role within a growing Center of Competence. This position is ideal for a senior professional who combines deep technical expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a structured and proactive approach to portfolio delivery.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of a portfolio of BESS projects across multiple countries, delivering on quality, schedule, and budget while driving best practices and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and expansion of a BESS Center of Excellence, leveraging and enhancing existing capabilities.
• Provide technical oversight and delivery assurance across a portfolio of BESS projects, ensuring alignment with quality, timeline, and cost targets.
• Apply structured portfolio management practices to proactively coordinate with project leads across regions.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps early, implementing corrective actions to maintain project performance.
• Review and challenge project plans, schedules, and critical paths to ensure robustness and feasibility.
• Utilize deep knowledge of BESS cost structures (including hardware, EPC, and services) to support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
• Validate engineering designs, technical studies, and commissioning strategies to ensure high standards and reliability.
• Drive standardization, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of best practices across the portfolio.
• Take a hands‑on role in resolving complex technical and delivery challenges.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 8–12+ years of experience in BESS or power infrastructure project delivery.
• Proven track record in managing or supporting multi‑project environments, ideally across international markets.
• Experience with integrated BESS and substation projects would be advantageous.
• Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, and critical path analysis.
• In‑depth understanding of BESS cost drivers and EPC delivery models.
