Bogie Project Engineering Manager

As Bogie Project Engineering Manager at our Siegen site, you guide technical definition through industrialization and operation for bogies. You oversee cross-functional project work with internal teams, customers, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and RAMS, while driving data-driven validation and cost optimization. You will lead design reviews, validate technical definitions, and manage input data to support timely engineering decisions. This role combines technical leadership with a focus on green mobility and continuous improvement within a global rail competence center.

• Ensure technical relevance of the product from definition to operational performance
• Manage all technical project aspects including coordination with internal teams, customers, and suppliers, plus planning, interfaces, and budget follow-up
• Ensure compliance with contractual technical requirements (RAMS, fire/smoke regulations, eco-design)
• Guarantee timely availability of input data for engineering studies (design inputs, supplier lead times, production deadlines)
• Lead and coordinate design reviews and internal/external validation activities
• Produce, update, and approve the technical definition and justification documentation
• Define and monitor the technical validation plan including tests and verification activities
• Drive continuous optimization of product development costs
• Contribute to technical tendering activities when required

• Mechanical Engineering degree
• 5–10 years of professional experience as an industrial designer, preferably in bogie or railway running gear development
• Strong analytical mindset
• Ability to synthesize and clearly structure complex technical information
