Broadcast Engineer / Medientechniker (m/w/d) – Bayerischer Rundfunk

Sel Hermes GmbH & Co. KG is a specialized engineering and staffing provider seeking a Broadcast Engineer / Medientechniker for Bayerischer Rundfunk.

Location: Munich (and various international sites: Rome, Vienna, Istanbul, Tel Aviv)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent, with possibilities for Homeoffice. Working hours: 37.5–40 hours per week, with shift/night/weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the flawless operation and availability of production and broadcasting systems, particularly at international locations.
  • Administration and configuration of production and broadcasting systems.
  • Analyse and rectify faults – on site and remotely.
  • Document and communicate incidents via ticketing systems.
  • Record requirements and design production and broadcast solutions for distributed studios.
  • Integrate new systems from project status into regular operation.
  • Create and maintain documentation for complex broadcast and IT systems.

Qualifications

  • Completed university degree (e.g., Media Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) or comparable qualification with experience in media technology.
  • Experience in production and broadcast technology processes.
  • Knowledge of studio production systems (e.g., BFE, EVS, Riedel, Lawo) and media software (e.g., Premiere Pro, Helmut FX, Digas, Sequoia) is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of audio/video signal processing (SDI, MADI, AES3, SMPTE 2022/2110, AES67).
  • Basic networking knowledge and proficiency with Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Experience with system documentation (e.g., AutoCAD, Confluence) desirable.
  • Self‑driven, structured working style.
  • Flexibility, including weekends/holidays.
  • Travel willingness in Germany and abroad, even in special circumstances.
  • Valid driving licence class B.
  • German and English, minimum B2 in speaking and writing.
