Valuation Team – Product Control

The job holder would be a part of the Valuation team within Product Control. The role ensures that financial instruments of the Global Markets Business are appropriately valued and controlled with respect to best practices incorporating IFRS accounting standard, Bank Group policies, procedures, and other relevant guidance.

Main Duties

• Oversee preparation of IPV (Independent Price Verification), FVA (Fair Value Adjustment), PVA (Prudent Valuation), and FVL (Fair Value Levelling).
• Work on improving controls and implementing valuation methodologies.
• Analyze valuation model restrictions and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate preparation of appropriate management information for various committees.
• Deliver a single view of P&L and Balance Sheet through cooperation with Business Financial Control and Core Product Control.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders including other Product Control functions, Quantitative Analytics, Front Office, Market Risk Management, IT, and Operations.
• Reengineer and streamline processes to achieve economies of scale and increased service quality.

Requirements

• University graduate from a reputed institution in finance or economics, or university graduate in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments and valuation techniques.
• Experience with Fair Value Framework.
• Knowledge of market risk factors.
• Advanced Excel; knowledge of VBA preferred; access to Access & SQL an advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Excellent written English and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ambitious, driven, enthusiastic, able to work independently.
• CFA/FRM qualification (also in progress) is an asset.
