Business Intelligence Expert for Chemistry Solutions (m/f/d)

In this role you will optimize and maintain large chemistry data databases to deliver near real-time query results. You’ll work within an agile team to improve data structures, schemas, and performance for complex searches. Your work directly supports scientists and researchers accessing chemistry data through Reaxys. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to grow across data, platform, and AI-friendly development paths.

• Understand, design, and maintain data structures and schemas; optimize data structures to fulfill customer use cases
• Transform data structures for different representations and implementations
• Optimize databases (indexes, data structures, queries) and implement extensions and stored procedures for fast retrieval
• Active contribution to agile ceremonies and team decisions
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries

• Expert level PostgreSQL or Oracle database experience
• Strong background in database optimization
• Bachelor in Computer Science or Life Sciences with database performance focus
• Minimum medium scripting experience in Bash, Perl, or Python
• Fluent English communication
• Ability to work in a diverse team
