You own the build-up and scaling of our Bars business (Protein-, Muesli-, other Bars) within the ESN Brand.
Your mandate: turn the category into a high-velocity, innovation-driven growth engine —combining strong product-market fit, winning formats and best-in-class commercial execution across channels.
You operate with full business ownership : steering growth, profitability, assortment complexity and innovation speed as if you were already running your own business.
This role is located in the headquarter in Hamburg and offers a hybrid set up with around one time per month visits in the HQ.
Your mission
- You own the revenue, margin and growth trajectory of the Bars business and steer core KPIs such as velocity, repeat, margin and channel performance
- You define and drive a clear growth strategy with explicit trade-offs (e.g. hero SKUs vs. complexity) and translate it into focused execution
- You partner closely with leadership and finance on budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking
- You build and scale a winning bars portfolio across segments (e.g. protein, muesli) and drive end-to-end portfolio decisions (formats, flavors, pack sizes, pricing tiers)
- You define and evolve a clear line architecture, balance innovation speed with SKU discipline, and translate consumer, taste and usage insights into strong product bets
- You work closely with R&D, supply chain and procurement to ensure speed, scalability and operational excellence
- You define channel-specific strategies (DTC, Amazon, retail) and execute across pricing, promotion, assortment, activation and full-funnel marketing to win in high-frequency environments
- You lead a high-performing team and cross-functional setup, drive velocity and ROI through data-led decisions, reduce complexity, and create clarity through prioritization and resource allocation
Your experience & skills
- You bring 10+ years of experience across product marketing, category marketing, commercial roles or high-growth environments — ideally in FMCG, food, snacks or sports nutrition
- You have a proven track record of owning and scaling categories or product-based businesses with clear impact on revenue, margin and velocity
- You have a strong understanding of FMCG dynamics, especially in high-rotation categories such as snacks, bars or beverages
- You have experience managing product complexity (SKUs, formats, flavors) and driving clear portfolio decisions
- You understand how to translate product, pricing, promotion and channel decisions into sell-through and repeat
- You have experience operating across multiple European markets and understand retail and consumer differences
- You ideally bring a background in top-tier FMCG, high-performance D2C or e-commerce environments
- You are fluent in English; German is a strong plus
