Category Director IT (m/f/d)

In this role you transform IT procurement into a strategic enterprise capability that delivers measurable value and supports the ONE SYM operating model. You own the global IT category strategy and align it with technology roadmaps, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. You lead a distributed team to manage hardware, software, services, and emerging tech spend across divisions and regions. You will drive supplier innovation and governance while shaping long-term partnerships to enable scalable, secure IT solutions.

• Own IT category strategies, sourcing models and supplier ecosystems (software, SaaS, cloud, enterprise apps)
• Manage spend (~€96M) across divisions and regions
• Lead and evolve a global procurement team (direct reports and regional resources)
• Drive supplier performance, innovation, and long-term partnerships
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and processes
• Align IT procurement with IT strategy, roadmap, investments and cybersecurity requirements
• Support digital transformation and the ONE SYM operating model

• 8–12 years of strategic procurement experience with IT procurement focus
• Global sourcing, transformation and value-creation experience
• Experience leading across global matrix organizations
• Strong commercial, negotiation, supplier-management and strategic sourcing capabilities
• Sound understanding of technology markets, supplier risk, cybersecurity and data privacy
• Fluent in German and English; Spanish is a plus
• University degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, IT or related field
