Category Manager – Semiconductor Materials (f/m/d)

In this role you own global sourcing for semiconductor materials, ensuring supply continuity and optimized total cost of ownership. You will align material strategy with technology roadmaps and production needs, working with R&D, process engineering, quality, and manufacturing. You drive supplier selection, contract negotiations, and market monitoring to mitigate risks and enable scalable product introductions. • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for semiconductor materials (e.g., wafers, photoresists, CMP slurries, specialty gases, chemicals)
• Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers aligned with tech roadmaps, quality standards, and production needs
• Negotiate contracts and terms to meet cost targets while ensuring reliable supply
• Monitor material markets, supplier performance, pricing trends, and risks to identify opportunities and mitigations
• Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, quality, and manufacturing to align material requirements with production needs
• Support new product introductions by sourcing materials meeting evolving process requirements and scalability targets
• Drive cost optimization via supplier development, data analysis, and total cost of ownership improvements
• Manage procurement performance, supplier relationships, and reporting to support business objectives

• 5+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in semiconductors/electronics/advanced manufacturing
• Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing suppliers, driving cost optimization
• Strong understanding of semiconductor materials and processes (wafers, gases, chemicals, photoresists, lithography, etching, metallization)
• Strong analytical skills with ERP/procurement systems and data analysis tools
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; fluent English; German advantageous
