CFO – Media Holding (Los Angeles, California, USA)This is a fantastic opportunity to join an international entertainment and media company focused on the creation, acquisition, financing, development, and commercialisation of intellectual property across film, television, digital media, music, live entertainment, and other content-driven sectors. Our client is further expanding the entertainment platform designed to develop premium content, pursue strategic partnerships, pursue investment opportunities, and create long-term value across global markets.The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors. The CFO will be responsible for building and leading the Company's financial organisation, supporting growth initiatives, capital allocation decisions, investment activities, and corporate development opportunities. This role requires a commercially minded executive who combines strong corporate finance expertise with a deep understanding of the economics of entertainment, media, intellectual property, and content businesses.Responsibilities:Financial Leadership and Corporate Strategy:Develop and execute the Company's financial strategy in alignment with long-term business objectivesPartner with the CEO and Board of Directors on strategic planning and growth initiativesEvaluate new business opportunities, investments, acquisitions, and strategic partnershipsProvide financial insight and decision support for executive leadershipDrive enterprise value creation through disciplined financial management and capital allocationCorporate Finance and Capital Markets:Lead capital raising initiatives, including debt and equity financingBuild and maintain relationships with investors, banks, private equity firms, family offices, and strategic partnersStructure and negotiate financing transactionsSupport mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investmentsLead financial due diligence activities and transaction executionDevelop valuation models for businesses, intellectual property, and content assetsEntertainment Finance:Establish financial oversight for film, television, digital content, music, and live entertainment projectsOversee project budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance trackingMonitor production expenditures and marketing investmentsEvaluate project profitability and return on investmentDevelop financial frameworks for content monetization and portfolio managementFinancial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):Build a world-class FP&A functionLead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processesDevelop executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, and management reporting systemsAnalyze business performance and identify opportunities for growth and efficiencyPrepare Board, investor, and executive reporting materialsTreasury, Liquidity and Risk Management:Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capitalOptimise capital structure and financing strategiesOversee banking relationships and treasury operationsMonitor financial, operational, and market risksImplement robust financial controls and governance processesAccounting, Tax and Compliance:Oversee accounting operations and financial reportingEnsure compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirementsCoordinate external audits and tax planning activitiesManage relationships with external advisors, auditors, legal counsel, and tax consultantsEstablish strong internal control and risk management frameworksLeadership and Team Development:Build and lead a high-performing finance organisationRecruit, mentor, and develop finance talentFoster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvementEstablish scalable financial processes and systems to support growthKey Skills:The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience in one or more of the following areas:Film & Television Finance, Intellectual Property & Content Investments, Streaming and Digital Media, Music and Live Entertainment, Investment and Capital FormationBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related fieldTechnical skills: Corporate Finance, Financial Modeling, M&A and Corporate Development, FP&A, Treasury Management, Entertainment Economics, Production Finance, Capital Markets, Investor Relations, Risk Management, Internal Controls, US GAAP, Strategic PlanningLeadership skills: strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, strong business judgment, ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment, executive presence and credibility with investors and Board members, high level of integrity and professional ethics, results-oriented approach with a focus on value creationMBA strongly preferredCPA, CFA, or similar professional designation is highly desirableIdeally, at least 12-15 years of progressive financial leadership experienceIdeally, at least 5 years in a CFO, VP Finance, Finance Director, or equivalent executive roleDemonstrated experience within entertainment, media, content production, streaming, gaming, sports, or related industriesProven track record in capital raising, corporate finance, and strategic transactionsExperience supporting M&A transactions and investment activitiesExperience working within high-growth, entrepreneurial, or investor-backed businesses is highly desirableInternational business experience is a strong advantageRussian language skills are an advantageThis role is based in Los Angeles, and the client is looking for a candidate who is already based in the US; no relocation offered
