Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Chemical Synthesis Marketing Manager (m/f/d) for our Frankfurt, Langelsheim, Germany (or Budapest, Hungary) location to start as soon as possible.

We support pharmaceutical and agrochemical customers with performance‑driven solutions for small‑molecule API and advanced intermediate production. Our products are also used in semiconductor and elastomer applications. With manufacturing and technical capabilities in Germany, the United States, and Taiwan, Albemarle combines deep chemistry expertise with global scale and close customer collaboration.

This role is responsible for the development and execution of both short and long‑term marketing strategies that align with Albemarle’s business goals, brand positioning, and market opportunities for specific market segments, regions and product portfolios, driving growth and competitive differentiation. This role will report to the Chemical Synthesis Marketing Director.

What You Will Do

  • Market Segmentation & Profiling: Drive advanced market segmentation and customer profiling; assess competitive landscapes; deliver segment briefs to guide strategy.
  • Strategic Marketing Execution: Design and implement data‑driven go‑to‑market strategies or campaigns, coordinate with stakeholders, and monitor campaign performance.
  • Market Intelligence & Value Proposition: Analyze B2B chemical market trends and Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback; develop compelling value propositions and customer‑centric content in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
  • Innovation & Leadership: Support product innovation and portfolio management; facilitate ideation workshops, business case development, and act as a strategic liaison across teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and/or Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing roles, ideally in the Pharma or Pharma Intermediates or a deep understanding of the API manufacturing value chain.
  • Exposure and demonstration of knowledge in the Pharma and/or Specialty Chemical market.
  • Experience supporting cross‑functional teams and managing regional projects in a matrix environment, as proven by success in executing strategy‑based market research and competitive analysis.
  • English proficiency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Market Insights & VOC: Skilled in market research, complex data analysis, and delivering insights to shape strategy.
  • Strategic Segmentation & Analytical Expertise: Experienced in segmentation frameworks, scoring models, and enabling data‑driven decisions.
  • Go‑to‑Market Strategy Development: Able to use insights and analytics to help build effective, growth‑focused go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Marketing Campaign Development & Execution: Proven track record designing and managing marketing campaigns with cross‑functional teams, using market insights to meet business goals.
  • Influential Communication & Facilitation: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; adept at leading workshops, managing logistics, and providing strategic briefings.
  • German proficiency is a plus.
