Chief Engineer Reliability (m/f/d)

Overview

In this role you define and drive the reliability strategy for Nordex’s onshore wind turbine fleet, partnering with Engineering and Technical Leads to improve design reliability and performance. You will formalize Design for Reliability across products and upgrades, acting as technical authority for critical turbine components. You’ll push high-reliability standards, lead recurring-failure reduction, and close the feedback loop between field operations and engineering. You’ll apply offshore reliability learnings and advanced condition monitoring to onshore development for measurable fleet impact.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Define and execute the reliability strategy for the onshore wind turbine fleet
  • Establish Design for Reliability principles across new products, upgrades, and development activities
  • Act as technical authority for drivetrain, blade, and electrical systems
  • Drive adoption of high-reliability engineering standards where appropriate
  • Lead design improvements to eliminate recurring failures and improve fleet reliability
  • Establish a structured feedback loop between field operations and engineering teams
  • Apply offshore reliability learnings, predictive maintenance practices, and advanced condition monitoring to onshore development
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or comparable qualification
  • More than 10 years of offshore wind energy experience with reliability focus
  • Strong expertise in reliability engineering, structural analysis, and failure reduction methodologies
  • Proven experience with complex wind turbine systems and critical component reliability
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring systems, predictive maintenance, and performance improvement approaches
  • Excellent command of Business English including technical communication
