Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Sittingbourne

Salary: £42,000 + On-Call Allowance

Hours: 40 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a children’s residential home in Sittingbourne. This role is ideal for a strong Senior Residential Practitioner looking to step up into management or an existing Deputy Manager seeking a new opportunity.

The Role

You will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, leading the staff team and ensuring young people are supported within a safe, stable and nurturing environment. The children and young people may present with social, emotional and behavioural needs, so experience within residential care is essential.

Key Duties

• Support the overall management of the home
• Supervise and support the residential care team
• Ensure the home operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
• Contribute to care planning, reviews and multi-agency meetings
• Support staff development and maintain high standards of care
• Participate in the on-call rota and provide cover where required

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or Level 4 in Children, Young People and Families (or a relevant degree)
• Minimum 1 year’s experience supervising or shift leading in a children’s residential setting
• Good leadership and communication skills
• A genuine commitment to supporting young people
