CI Manager

Position Summary

Leads the continuous improvement effort to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost. Identifies inefficiencies, drives cost-savings and engages with employees through hands‑on training and coaching. Creates a strategic lean transformation plan and drives preparation and execution of improvement efforts throughout the facility. Utilizes a participative team approach and strong project management skills to contribute towards the company’s global multi‑million dollar cost saving initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains lean transformation plan to deliver value, eliminate waste and improve performance based on strategy deployment and business results.
• Collaborates with leaders to execute Gemba walk process (Managing for Daily Improvement), utilizing and constantly improving the production floor and office areas. Drives all levels of leaders to implement continuous improvement and eliminate flow inhibitors.
• Leads the plant‑wide cost savings program to meet and/or exceed annual targets, including identification, validation, and execution of projects.
• Establishes and maintains plant KPIs and visual factory tools in the organization’s Lean system and serves as subject‑matter expert.
• Communicates and leads change to plant/department leaders; implements Lean CI strategy at the plant level.
• Communicates monthly productivity and CI results to management and the corporate CI team.
• Develops and implements a CI roadmap to improve flow of materials and other improvements as defined by the roadmap.
• Executes the CI roadmap within the sites; participates, teaches, and leads the deployment of CI projects.
• Establishes standardized work and audit schedule for sustainment, driving and improving metrics.
• Implements CI best practices across plants/functional areas and shares them with the organization.
• Teaches problem‑solving skills to all employees, promoting the use of problem‑solving tools within plants/functional areas, and becomes a subject‑matter expert.
• Supports the Quality Management System.
• Acts as an active leader within the company’s OPEX communities to spread improvements, share best practices, and provide support where required.
• Performs ad‑hoc job tasks assigned by the direct superior that are not specified in this scope of duties but fall within the employee’s professional competencies.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or significant direct manufacturing experience using and leading continuous improvement tools, systems, and methodologies.

Desirable

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

• Experience driving cultural change, leading teams, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
• Skilled in managing projects, risks, and leading cross‑functional teams to achieve operational goals; strong ability to analyze performance metrics, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement data‑based solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change in a fast‑paced environment with a constant bias for action.
• Ability to empower teams so they can independently drive improvements.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies with a bias towards Lean.
• Presentation skills.
• Facilitation and coaching skills.
• Able to convey complex information in simple terms.

Other Requirements

Ability to travel if responsible for multiple sites.
