Client Accountant (m/f/d)

Working Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week following successful completion of the probation period)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and client‑focused Client Accountant to coordinate financial matters for international clients, acting as their main point of contact. You will support bookkeeping, reporting, financial statements, and audit coordination for a diverse client base, including companies, trusts, and real estate structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with accountants to manage a portfolio of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
- Assist with accounts payable/receivable and invoice management.
- Support bookkeeping and preparation of financial reports, working papers, and annual financial statements, primarily in accordance with German GAAP (HGB).
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits for SPVs and follow up on audit‑related matters.
- Help with the preparation of VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and other regulatory submissions.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and tax advisors, and ensure internal systems are updated with accurate client data.
- Provide general administrative support to the team and assist senior colleagues with day‑to‑day operations and internal projects.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant professional experience in a Corporate Services Provider, bank, audit firm, or in the private equity / real estate sector.
- Knowledge of German GAAP or other international accounting standards is an asset.
- Confident in preparing financial analyses, reconciliations, and calculations.
- Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Accurate, professional, and adaptable individual with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
Salary range: €50,000 – €60,000 gross per year, determined based on skills, experience, and scope of role.
