Aufgabe

The Commodity Manager - CM HLA (Contract Manufacturer Higher Level Assemblies) is responsible for managing the contract manufacturer's commodity «Higher Level Assemblies». They develop and implement commodity strategies to ensure the availability of high-quality commodities at the best prices. Commodity Managers also monitor market trends, assess risk factors, and identify opportunities for cost reduction or improvement in supply chain efficiency. Their role is crucial in maintaining a steady supply of essential materials while optimizing costs and mitigating risks in alignment with business and supply chain strategy.

• Understand lifecycle management of each supplier within the commodity to guide next steps and judge if it fits the commodity strategy (including risk management).
• Oversee and manage the value of suppliers within the commodity: evaluate if the Supplier Performance Management results fit into the commodity strategy and drive respective measures.
• Define and adapt sourcing strategy within the commodity: spend, price development, lead time development, cost saving opportunities and liabilities needed to fit into the commodity strategy.
• Ensure sufficient contract coverage of strategic suppliers within and define what needs to be covered within a contract to support commodity strategy.
• Align with R&D and product development on future technology demand for the commodity.

Qualifikation

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in commodity management, sourcing or procurement.
• Experience and industry knowledge of the commodity (CM HLA).
• Experience in negotiation and supplier management.
• Experience working with globally matrix- organized teams and across business units.
