Overview

In this role you support Goldman Sachs’ CF&O Compliance by covering German Custody operations and related functions, acting as a second-line risk advisor. You will assess regulatory changes, design and implement controls and procedures, and monitor for compliance across control, finance, and operating teams. You’ll engage regulators, contribute to audits, and drive training and policy development to sustain a robust compliance framework. This role offers global scope and a chance to influence custody risk and regulatory outcomes.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Advise control and operating functions on regulations, policies and reputational risk
  • Identify, investigate and manage compliance issues involving control and operating functions
  • Provide support and guidance to control and operating functions in dealings with regulators
  • Brief senior leadership and CAPO on risks and stakeholder engagement
  • Analyze regulatory changes and enforcement actions to assess impact on functions
  • Support development, analysis, drafting and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and processes
  • Assist CAPO with second-line risk assessments for Custody rules and obligations
  • Conduct second-line testing and monitoring, including forensic reviews
  • Liaise with auditors and stakeholders on custody-related audit engagements
  • Input into compliance risk assessments to ensure program effectiveness
  • Develop and deliver communication and training initiatives
  • Investigate conduct issues and liaise with internal stakeholders
  • Recommend testing work and manage information barriers
  • Coordinate with the broader CF&O Compliance team on initiatives and projects
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • At least 5 years of work experience, including 3 years as a compliance officer or in risk management/control
  • Knowledge of German and Luxembourg Custody rules and related legal frameworks
  • Experience interacting with regulators or supporting regulatory audits/inquiries
  • Understanding of the European regulatory reporting environment and current supervisory activity in EMEA
  • Knowledge of operational practices in securities and derivatives markets
  • Knowledge of regulations and market infrastructure in Europe
  • Clear and concise communication, able to influence at senior levels
  • Risk management mindset, ability to articulate risks and mitigation
  • Comfort with challenging stakeholders while maintaining independence
