Compliance Officer – Global Markets Advisory (m/f/d)

In this role you will provide compliance guidance to Global Markets activities at the Frankfurt branch, spanning fixed income, currencies, equities, and related products. You will help shape the compliance risk culture and ensure local procedures align with SG Group policies and German regulations. You will work with business lines and global offices to address compliance needs early and coordinate on regulatory developments. You will also deliver training and support regulatory audits, contributing to a robust control framework and timely responses to inquiries. This role offers the chance to influence risk management in a leading wholesale bank and to collaborate across functions.

• Provide compliance advice to local Global Markets activities across asset classes, with emphasis on equity, derivatives, and structured products
• Contribute to design and maintenance of the branch's compliance risk culture and control framework per SG Group requirements and local laws
• Maintain proactive relationships with business lines and other departments to address compliance requirements early
• Advise on regulatory aspects of new products and support deployment of group policies and local procedures
• Contribute to monitoring of regulatory developments and assess local implementation needs
• Assist in the monitoring, surveillance and control framework to prevent/reveal compliance and reputational risks
• Support regulatory audits and reporting to German authorities where applicable
• Coordinate with global markets compliance officers to ensure consistent issue resolution and engagement
• Contribute to risk assessments and monitor related action plans within local compliance scope
• Develop and deliver regular and targeted compliance trainings for staff, including new joiners
• Respond to regulatory inquiries and coordinate actions with internal controls and audit teams
• Support timely and accurate control and governance reporting

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in a Bank/Financial Institution
• Good knowledge of Global Markets activities and regulatory frameworks (including MAD II/MAR, MiFID II/MiFIR, and German regulations)
• Fluency in German and English (written and spoken); French would be advantageous
• Ability to analyze, summarize, and structure information
• Strong risk assessment and procedural evaluation skills
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
