Construction Project Manager - Data Center Germany

As a Construction Project Manager, you will help deliver data center construction projects in Nordrhein-Westfalen, collaborating with EPCs and internal teams to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets. You’ll work on high-impact, multi-site builds that power Microsoft’s cloud services, driving data-driven decisions and cross-functional coordination. The role combines on-site leadership with governance, risk management, and vendor oversight to ensure timely, safe, and compliant project delivery. • Monitor and oversee project budget and project controls (PERs, PSRs, change orders, pay applications)
• Coordinate with CO+I, CSE, RE&F and other stakeholders to implement efficient processes
• Participate in owner/architect/contractor meetings and manage vendor activities
• Drive on-time, safe delivery of local construction and infrastructure projects
• Apply financial acumen to optimize cost and value for the project
• Align project goals with internal teams to support corporate vision
• Confirm resource availability and assist with procurement of materials
• Manage data center fit-out activities and risk-based decision making
• Provide project tracking data, KPI metrics, and status reporting to partners
• Develop and communicate risk mitigation plans and dashboards to leadership
• Represent Microsoft on safety, regulatory compliance, and audits onsite
• Review engineering docs and site plans to identify risks and ensure security compliance
• Support vendor performance management and procurement of services
• Assist with preparing RFPs, PERs, and project approvals

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Extensive construction/engineering/project management experience, preferably on data center projects
• German language proficiency at B1 or higher
• Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background check and related security screenings
• Willingness to relocate or live within 50 miles of the Cologne NRW site
