Controls & Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Controls & Automation Engineer at Isar Aerospace, you will design, implement, and maintain PLC-based control systems for ground test and launch sites, with a focus on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of ground systems, from development and commissioning to troubleshooting and upgrades. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable, and scalable automation for subcomponent testing and rocket launches. • Develop PLC software for new and existing ground systems
• Design PLC hardware setups and topologies
• Perform risk analyses and design safety-critical electrical systems
• Commission control systems of new ground systems and tailor to operator needs
• Maintain and support ground systems across their lifecycle
• Troubleshoot PLC systems

• 2+ years of experience in automation and PLC technology
• Ideally experience with Beckhoff PLCs
• Experience in PLC programming (soft-PLC) and commissioning (Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 or CODESYS)
• Hands-on experience in technical support and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of industrial fieldbus systems
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics
• Highly organized and proactive with high attention to detail
• Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills
• Fluent in English
