Copy Editor - German

We are looking for a German First-Language – Copy Editor with experience in Health Science publishing to join our Editorial Services team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in editing scientific and medical content in German, ensuring linguistic excellence, technical accuracy, and adherence to publishing standards. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely with leading global publishers.

Key Responsibilities

• Copyedit and proofread German-language health science, medical, scientific, and academic manuscripts.
• Ensure accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, terminology, and style.
• Improve clarity, readability, and consistency while preserving the author's intended meaning.
• Ensure compliance with client-specific style guides and publishing standards.
• Verify references, citations, abbreviations, tables, figures, and cross-references.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Editorial teams to deliver projects within agreed timelines.
• Resolve author and client queries related to editorial corrections.
• Deliver high-quality work while meeting productivity and turnaround time targets.
• Maintain confidentiality of client content and editorial materials.

Required Qualifications

• German speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in German, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Linguistics, Translation, or a related discipline.
• Strong command of English to understand source content and editorial instructions.
• Excellent knowledge of German grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editorial conventions.

Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Health Science Publishing and German Copyediting.
• Experience editing medical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or scientific manuscripts.
• Familiarity with academic journal or book publishing workflows.
• Experience working with international publishers is highly preferred.
