In the Data Analytics Team at HUK-COBURG, we transform data into real added value for over 13 million customers. As Germany’s leading auto insurance provider, we are a long-established and stable company that invests strategically in innovation and its data-driven future. Our agile Data Analytics teams use state-of-the-art machine learning and AI methods to optimize processes, calculate fair prices, manage claims digitally and intelligently, and develop new, innovative insurance products.

Through our telematics solution, we already collect driving data from more than 500,000 customers who travel a distance equivalent to approximately 300 times the circumference of the Earth every day. Using this data, we can assess our customers’ driving safety and reward safe driving with discounts. In addition, we already automatically detect accidents, which allows us to help our customers in emergency situations.

Here’s what you can look forward to

Working at the intersection of method development and production operations in an agile big data and AI environment
Developing complex software solutions based on machine learning
Providing technical support for the deployment of machine learning models
Designing and coordinating tests and changes
Data analytics, ad hoc analyses, and reporting
Teamwork within a motivated and agile team, as well as cross-functional collaboration with related departments

Your Profile

Completed degree (at least a master’s, ideally a Ph.D.) in mathematics, physics, computer science, data science, or a related field
Proficiency in modern machine learning methods and relevant Python libraries
Experience in the design and development of big data applications
Understanding of the principles of software frameworks for distributed, scalable systems and cloud computing
Experience in project work and/or working in agile teams is a plus
Ability to work independently with creativity and dedication
Strong communication skills, mathematical and technical understanding, and a goal-oriented and results-driven approach to work
Hybrid work model: Willingness to work on-site in Coburg
