Deployed Hardware Engineer

In this role you translate evolving concepts into flight-ready prototypes for Helsing's advanced drone platforms. You own the build cycle from concept to field testing, enabling faster learning and more capable hardware. You work with design and test engineers to surface risks early and deliver hardware solutions that keep the development fleet mission-ready. • Design, fabricate, and assemble flight-ready prototypes including complex folding structures and integrated avionics bays
• Modify airframes and build custom electrical wiring harnesses and power distribution to support rapid iteration
• Integrate and configure flight control platforms (PX4, ArduPilot) and calibrate onboard sensors
• Plan and execute functional and lifetime field tests, using telemetry to refine CAD models
• Collaborate with design and test engineers to surface integration risks and deliver hardware solutions that keep the fleet on schedule

• Extensive experience with unmanned aerial systems or complex mechanical/robotic systems through full development cycle
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks/PDM or Siemens NX/Teamcenter) and application of FEA for aerospace/UAV hardware
• Hands-on workshop fabrication with composites, metals, 3D printing, precision tools, and soldering
• Experience integrating and troubleshooting flight control, payload electronics, and power distribution on UAVs
• Comfort with incomplete documentation and evolving requirements, taking end-to-end ownership of outcomes
