Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer - Vice President, Compliance & Control

Vice President, Compliance & Control – Frankfurt, Germany

We are seeking a Vice President, Compliance & Control to join our team in Frankfurt, Germany. The role includes serving as the deputy MLRO of the BNY Frankfurt Branch, requiring in‑depth knowledge of German and European AML regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of the MLRO in the absence of the MLRO.
• Support the MLRO in regulatory tasks such as risk assessments, training, reviews, advisory activities, project work, oversight of financial‑crime outsourcing, updating procedures, filing SARs, liaising with auditors, and preparing reports.
• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, ensuring organizational adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular compliance assessments to identify risks and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate compliance controls into business processes.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters.
• Monitor regulatory changes, advising senior management on implications and adjustments to policies.
• Lead investigations into compliance breaches, ensuring thorough analysis and corrective action.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or related field.
• Advanced certifications in compliance or risk management (e.g., CRCM, CAMS) are advantageous.
• Typically 5‑10 years of experience in financial institutions’ financial crime or compliance functions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to interpret regulatory changes and implement compliance strategies.
• Fluent in business English and German.
