Job Description:As an employee of Aerostack, a Joint Venture between Airbus and an automotive company, and in line with Airbus strategy to accelerate Zero Emission Aircraft development, you will be part of a collaborative team developing PEM fuel cell stack for aeronautic applications.This role is critical for the successful development and will focus on Bipolarplate CAD design of our fuel cell stack technology, specifically Key Accountabilities are:Key Accountabilities: Design EngineerEnsure the timely and successful creation and release of CAD drawings, adhering to all Aerostack standards and configuration management requirementsDeliver assigned sub-work packages on time and in full compliance with all project and Aerostack standardsKey Responsibilities: Design EngineerTechnical Development and CAD DesignDrive the technical development of fuel cell stack components, parts, jigs and toolsDefine, cascade, and manage requirements for stack components, parts and for jigs and toolsCreate advanced, parameterized CAD models adhering to relevant standards, including mass, volume calculations as well as conducting assembly checksDefine and/or perform mechanical analyses (including thermal, fluid mechanical, mechanical, and electrical aspects) and dimensioning of partsPerform initial mechanical analyses (including thermal, fluid mechanical, mechanical, and electrical aspects)Perform detailed tolerance calculationsPrepare CAD models specifically for subsequent CAE calculationsStandards, Documentation, and ConfigurationApply relevant Aerostack and Aeronautical standards and processes to the workPrepare and release manufacturing drawings and essential engineering documents, such as Bills of Material (BOM)Ensure adherence to the established part numbering and release systemSupport configuration management and the maintenance and refinement of best practices within SAPActively participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (D-FMEAs) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (P-FMEAs), emphasizing quality and safety elementsPrototyping, Validation, and Technology AdvancementCoordinate the procurement, manufacturing, and assembly of components, parts and jigs and toolsPropose and support Validation and Verification (V&V) activitiesStrive for advanced stack technology to achieve TRL 5 and beyond, supporting the industrialization of stack componentsAccountable to Coordinate, control, monitor, and document sub-work packagesCollaboration and Continuous ImprovementMaintain close cooperation with the "CRE" (Component Responsible Engineer), project leads, and cross-functional partners (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Cost Engineering, Quality)Continuously improve engineering procedures, design guides and methodsConduct patent and literature research relevant to fuel cell technologyOrganization structureThe jobholder reports operationally and functionally to HO Engineering.Required Skills and ExperienceEducation: Master’s degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or a closely related disciplineWhile aerospace experience is a plus, we highly encourage experts from the automotive, maritime, or commercial fuel cell sectors who are eager to adapt to aerospace standards to applyExpert in CAD-based design of bipolar platesSubstantial professional background in fuel cell stack developmentSoftware and Tools:Expert with 3D-CAD tools (e.g., Catia, 3DX)Ability to understand and interpret results from FEM and CFD simulationsCompetence in programming (e.g., Python)Google Workspace is a plusMindset and Languages:Must be pragmatic, strive for simplicity, capable of thriving in a multidisciplinary and multicultural setting, and possess a "Can-do attitude" with a strong drive for executionLanguage Skills: Fluent proficiency in both English and German is requiredWhat do we offer?Challenging tasks for/with unique services and productsPleasant working atmosphere in a professional and international work environmentComprehensive on-boarding includedExtensive company training offers (eLearning and Classroom Trainings)Flexible working hoursCompatibility of work and family lifeAttractive remunerationCompany Pension SchemeEmployee stock optionsDiscounted car leasingGood connections to public transport and local parking facilitiesCatering facilities on siteThis job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.Company:Aerostack GmbHEmployment Type:Permanent-Experience Level:ProfessionalJob Family:System Installation By submitting your CV or application you are consenting to Airbus using and storing information about you for monitoring purposes relating to your application or future employment.
